Petrochemical Special Economic Zone
Exir Chemical Terminal (ECT) is located in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (Petzone) of Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) at the Persian Gulf.
The Terminal is built in site 5 of the Petzone and is connected to the close by Petzone Jetty Facility via pipelines. BIK is located in the south western part of Iran in Khuzestan provice which is one the most important ports of the country. Due to the High-Class transport infrastructure from BIK to the north, and moreover the fact that BIK is the closest important port to the main consumption and industrial areas of the country and has one of the largest petrochemical complexes, the objective of the terminal is to Facilitate the import, export and offsite storage of liquid chemical products and also their transit to/from the neighboring countries.
Besides handling vessels and tank trucks, the terminal have a drumming unit and can be connected via pipelines to the petrochemical plants in the area.
The capacity of the terminal will be about 120,000 cbm. In the first phase ECT is started with 18 tanks (22,000 cbm).
